3 years ago I was heavily into my fitness.
I was often training 2 times a day and was on stage in in fitness modelling competitions comparing my physic onstage with other ladies who worked as hard as I did. I loved it. I loved the challenge. I loved the mental strength. I loved the dedication it took that not many others could do and I loved the passionate people I met doing it.
When I discovered Mooyee I wanted to share with people. Not so much my fitness journey, but how they, like me could get more out of their training when they are recovering faster and better and relieve DOMS (delayed onset of muscle soreness). I knew I had a winner. The amount of people who train and who talk about their physical pain and exhaustion…I could see this being the NEXT BIG THING!
My business partner and I were pumped.
We listed all the areas of sport where we could focus Mooyee. We spent days work out how to target them and off we went. For the first while it was ok. By the second year I was by myself pushing the same ideas and people. By the third year I was enjoying selling it and my fitness group loved being able to train more just from using for 20mins after their sessions.
To me Mooyee was for athletes, CrossFitters, body builders. As the years ticked away I wasn’t one of these anymore so why would I need it? After 3 years I stopped using Mooyee and just sold it.
One day I had a revelation, why not moving into wholesale, will be some easy wins and my physio friend Derek has the credibility to sell to his clients more than I do from a website. I was excited about this direction and thought my breakthrough was coming YAY!!!
So he took the Mooyee. For 2 months I asked him what he thought and for 2 months he said “I will try I promise”, “sorry Lili I have been busy”, “I will get to it this week”.
Till one day I got a message.
Hi Lili. I have been using Mooyee and I love it. As you know I have Multiple Sclerosis (Disability score or EDSS 4/10 I found out later) and what happens is I get foot drop and it has been increasingly harder to walk. The muscles to raise my foot don’t contract like they use to and walking can sometimes be scary. Well I have been using Mooyee in the morning when I get up on my lower leg and it is helping me get the movement back, I don’t fear falling over anywhere as much as I used to. Thank you so much. Derek.
I read and re-read the message. Had I really spent the last 3 years selling a product that can do more than stop DOMS. Had I really spent 3 years selling to fitness people so they can do more fitness. Had I really missed the fact that my product could actually be helping people with a basic human function that we take for granted like walking!
I felt stupid that I didn’t even know what my product did. I was so annoyed that I could have actually been helping people with MS to get more functionality on their failing bodies and instead I was helping fit people not be in pain they chose to inflict!
My friend Derek not only took my product and used it for walking, he also helped a lovely lady who had a stroke get a greater range of movement in her legs. She had been working with Derek once a week in physical therapy and a drastic improvement from 10 minutes with Mooyee then she had had with months of physical therapy.
This realisation pushed my business from a “would like” niche to a “I need to have this” niche.
It moved from a nice product to own to a product that could drastically improve someone’s way of life.
Again I was torn between the excitement of being able to share this product and the shame of really not knowing what it was capable of. I was so busy just focusing on what I knew and was comfortable with and not expanding my knowledge and awareness.
Now Mooyee has helped ailments like arthritis, fibromyalgia, strokes, MS, tension headaches, general tension and muscle pain, sciatica, shoulder, hip and knee reconstructions, tennis elbow, DVT, bad circulation, muscle trigger issues and much much MUCH more.
I love Mooyee, I use Mooyee and I love hearing all the wonderful stories. I wake up day after day to stories telling me how it has helped make someone’s life that bit better, how amazing is that!
